Such a pain in the rear!!

I cannot even begin to tell you how much this baby is a pain in my rear.... and I mean literally! My lower back and but-tocks (say it like Forrest Gump and it's funnier) hurt so so SO bad. It hurts to sit, hurts to stand, hurts to lay down.... hurts to just BE.

30 days to go, or so my ticker says. I went to the doctor on Friday and my blood pressure was up to 140/100. Doc said if it didn't go down she'd send me to L&D to be monitored. I stayed there at the doc's office, laying on my left side, for about 30 minutes and it went down so I avoided L&D at least for the day.

Jack is still breech so c-section is still a possibility. Guess we will not know for sure if he's going to turn for a couple more weeks.

We did get Jack's room all painted and set up last weekend. I am so relieved to finally have that done! I think it looks great! Just have a few little decorative touches to work on to completely finish it!

Pics to come soon!

Yeah, what I said about trying to do better with keeping up with this blog... well... I really meant it! Really, I did! But as they say "Life gets in the way".

So since April a lot has happened. I mentioned that we are having a new addition to the family and I have 44 more days to go! Baby Jack is due November 24th. I don't think I will go that long though, just a feeling. Right now he is breech, with his little head lodged on my left side. This pregnancy has been a LOT different than with Brenna. I think I look more pregnant that's for sure! Jack is already a bruiser, he's knocked a rib out of place on my right side and my back has been killing me for a few months now. No bueno if you ask me!

When we found out we were having a boy Brandon immediately started trying to sell me on doing a pirate nursery. I was like "Umm... over my dead body" and a flat out "no". Then I wandered into a baby store and happened to see the cutest pirate crib bedding. After consulting with my posse (Sonya, Joanne, Marina) I showed it to Brandon and that was all she wrote. So we are having a pirate nursery and I can't wait. We are 44 days away and the room hasn't even been painted yet. That's happening next weekend. I can't wait to see it all come together!

Well it's been almost a year since my last update... I kinda forgot I had a blog! LOL!

Brenna is almost 3 years old now, where has the time gone?? Seriously, someone tell me!! She is so fun. She says the funniest things and always has me laughing.

For example, I was taking her to daycare one day and their project for the day was about Easter. As I was buckling her into her carseat I asked her "Do you know about Easter?" and got a blank stare. Our conversation went something like this:

Me: Easter is about Jesus

Brenna: Jesus?

Me: Yes (suddenly not sure how to discuss the resurrection with a 2 1/2 year old so I say)

Me: It's when Jesus came back

Brenna: Jesus on vacation?

So there it is. I'll try to do better updating this blog with the funny and thought provoking things that come from the mouths of my little one!!

And in November we will have a new little one to blog about too! Brenna's preference for a brother or sister changes daily so I will keep everyone posted on the progress!

Ophelia

The last few weeks have been hard. On May 3rd we had to put my sweet kitty Ophelia to sleep. She was 16 years old. I'd been worried about her of late but she still seemed like herself. She was still eating and drinking and pooping and all of that good stuff. But Saturday she was laying in the hall and I could just tell something wasn't right. I picked her up and held her and just cried and cried. Brandon called the vet and they said to bring her in right away. We didn't have anyone to keep Brenna on such short notice so I wasn't able to go with her. I told Brandon when he left that I thought she'd had a stroke and the vet said the same thing. He stayed with her until it was all over and that made me feel better knowing she wasn't alone. It was probably for the best that I wasn't there, I would have been sobbing uncontrollably I know.

Morrison, our dog, was at the groomer when all of this happened. When he came home I think he could tell something was different. He seemed sad for several days. I think he's still looking for her, he goes to the places where she would sleep and looks for her. It breaks my heart.

I still want to cry whenever I think about it. I know she had a good life and she was loved very much.

Update

Brenna had tubes put in her ears yesterday. She's doing great. It was harder on me than it was for her! We saw an ENT on Tuesday and he wanted to do it ASAP so he scheduled us for Thursday morning. She had 7 ear infections in the last 12 months. Poor baby! She was cranky and sleepy yesterday but today she's been her happy self again. Well, except for the fall-to-the-floor fits she had a couple of times today. Don't know who to thank for that bit of excitement!

I know she's getting to the "terrible two's" stage and I'm afraid we are going to get there a little early. I told Brandon we will not have "that kid" that throws themselves to the ground and has fits. She's become familiar with her time-out spot already and if she's acting out she will become very comfortable there! LOL!

So far so good...

with the latest fill. I can tell a difference in the amount I have eaten the last few days. This was a good weekend. Mom and I went to see "The Other Boleyn Girl", it was really good. I read the book years ago and was very excited to see they had made a movie. I love that historical stuff, the fiction and the non-fiction. I also just finished reading "The Boleyn Inheritance" and it was great. It makes me want to read more. I used to read a lot, but that was BB - Before Brenna! LOL!

We booked our Disney trip today! Woohoo! We will be leaving December 5th and coming back the 15th. My BFF Sonya and her DH James are going with us too and I am sooo excited! Brandon and I sat down with Brenna today to watch the Disney Vacation Planning DVD. Not like WE need a DVD to plan a trip, LOL! But Brenna was just enthralled with it. Anytime Mickey was on the screen she'd yell "MICKEY" or "RELLA" if she saw Cinderella.

I'm such a sap, if you know me in real life you already know this. But watching her watch the DVD actually made me cry! Seeing her excitement over the characters on TV, and thinking how much MORE excited she will be to see them in person.... UGH! Waterworks! Unless of course she takes after her Aunt Reenie and is terrified of people in costumes. Then we might be in for a different vacation! I think she'll do great though, we can't wait!!
